WHY US?
ABOUT OUR ORGANIZATION
The North Suburban Wings girls hockey program was founded in 2017. The program was built on the idea that there were not enough girls youth hockey programs focusing on skill development in Massachusetts. With an emphasis on more practice/skills than traditional programs offered, the Wings quickly became the most accomplished program on Massachusetts North Shore.
In 2019, Essex Sports Center became the official home of the Wings. With a modern, twin rink facility, a 30,000 SF Fieldhouse, Mike Boyle Strength & Conditioning and Sports Rehab Unlimited, located in Middleton, MA, the Wings.
In 2023, the Wings joined the New England Girls Hockey League. Established in the 1970's the NEGHL remains the strongest, most competitive girls and women's hockey league in the United States. With more than 30 organizations representing over 220 women's teams from across New England, while offering multiple levels of competition it is the best league available to female hockey players.
Today, the Wings host players from all over Massachusetts and compete in tournaments all over the country, including having the honor of representing the Massachusetts District at Nationals. While much has changed, the goal has not - to be a program focused on skill development and assisting our players become better athletes every time they touch the ice.
